Cat Got Your Tongue?

"My Momma Likes to Say" by Denise Brennan-Nelson, Illustrated by Jane Monroe Donovan, 2003

"Does your momma ever say things that you think are quite amusing? Does your momma ever say things that you find a bit confusing? My momma says some funny things like, "You're sweet as pie," "Be as good as gold," and "You're the apple of my eye."

This is an educational book to help teach children different idioms and cliches and what they mean. Sometimes it gives the origins such as "Time flies when you're having fun" originated from the Romans. Tempus fugit means time flees.
Be sure to read this to your child to help teach them and learn a thing or two yourself! I really, really like this book.
