To Be, or Not To Be

All the World's a Stage by Rebecca Piatt Davidson, Illustrated by Anita Lobel, 2003

A nice, simplistic introduction to William Shakespeare's plays with cute repetition and famous quotes from several plays including:

The Comedy of Errors
The Taming of the Shrew
Romeo and Juliet
The Tempest
Twelfth Night
A Midsummer Night's Dream
King Lear
The Winter's Tale

An interesting fact I realized upon reading the end of this book is that Shakespeare's wife's name was Anne Hathaway....hmmmm also the name of a famous young actress today! I checked it out, and the Hollywood actress's real name is in fact Anne Hathaway same name as Shakespeare's wife.

You can read this picture book to your preschoolers, but I'm not sure how much they'd understand. It definitely can't hurt. The suggested reading level is kindergarten and up.
