Nothing to Do

Ever feel like you have too much to do? Do your kids feel that way? It seems like adults and children these days need to learn how to "do nothing" instead of cramming their lives full of organized activities and things to do. You don't want to be so busy that you miss life. On the flip side, do your kids ever say, "I'm bored! I have nothing to do?"

Nothing to Do by Douglas Wood, Illustrated by Wendy Anderson Halperin, 2006 is a picture book that reminds us that children need time to use their imagination and take time to stop and smell the roses, climb a tree, go exploring, etc.

"Once in awhile, along comes a day when there is nothing--absolutely positively nothing to do...Do you have white spaces in your calendar?"

Be sure to leave "white spaces" in your calendar for you and your kids to relax and enjoy life.

"And maybe one of the best ways to do nothing is to show someone else how to do it. Maybe someone with big shoes. Just to remind them that sometimes, doing nothing is the most important thing in the whole world to do."
