All in a Day

All in a Day by Cynthia Rylant, illustrated by Nikki McClure, 2009.

"A day brings hope and kindness, too...a day is all its own. You can make a wish, and start again, you can find your way back home...

There is a faith in morningtime, there is belief in noon. Evening will come whispering and shine a bright round moon...

So live it well, make it count, fill it up with you. The day's all yours, it's waiting now...See what you can do."

This is one of my new favorite books for several reasons. Rylant promotes a good work ethic, sees the goodness of this world, and reassures us that "Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it" to quote Anne Shirley from the movie Anne of Green Gables.

I see the potential this book can have for parents. It can be a great first-thing-in-the-morning book to start off the day in a good direction. It can be a great bedtime story after a rough day full of mistakes. You can teach your child that tomorrow you can make things right. It is full of hope and goodness.

This is one for your home library!

Love this book too, honey. Perfect way to remind both the kids and the parents to focus on the positive things in life! Love you!
