This is a really great book to get acquainted with some of the most popular and famous things about Chinese culture.

The following is a list of things explained in the book: Chinese acrobats, Beijing, chopsticks, Dragon Dance, ehru, Four Treasures of Study, Great Wall, Himalayan Mountain Range, inventions, jasmine, kites, lantern, Mongolians, New Year, opera, pandas, Qin Terra-Cotta Warriors, rice paddies, Silk Road, transportation, umbrella, vegetables, wok, xie xie, Yangtze River, and the zodiac.

“Jasmine tea is a favorite flavor in summer as it is said to relieve the inner heat in your body.”

“In China different seasons bring different vegetables. Some of the most popular are bok choy (a type of cabbage), snow peas, eggplant, bamboo, bean sprouts, onions and spinach. These are prepared with mushrooms, ginger, and lotus roots and both white and black sesame seeds.”
