Don't Tease Your Friends!

Yes We Can!” by Sam McBratney

Sometimes even amongst friends, there can be teasing. Sometimes teasing can be a little funny like telling a joke, but sometimes teasing causes hurt feelings.

Little Roo, Country Mouse, and Quacker Duck are friends who are all good at different things. They start playing together when Little Roo starts talking like this: “I know something you can’t do…”

That is never a good thing to say to another person especially a friend. One thing leads to another and each of them teases each other about what they cannot do. Now all of them were grumpy. Little Roo’s mother intervened and said, “Nobody likes to be laughed at…why don’t you show each other what you CAN do?”

Then they all encouraged each other and became good friends again.

Sam McBratney is the author of the beloved picture book “Guess How Much I Love You?”
