Red, White and Boom!

Red, White and Boom!” by Lee Wardlaw, 2012

This summer-fun, 4th of July-themed picture book tells a story using short poetic phrases and bold illustrations full of people from many cultures. This is fitting for preschool and elementary.
“Fireflies flit, sparklers spit.
Pinwheels spin, Goosebump skin.
Peacock plume, Sunburst bloom.
Star flakes spill, Heart-thump thrill.
Rockets wing, Crackles, sing, Burst and zoom, Red, White, boom!”

I will be adding this to my Independence Day book collection.
